This foundation promised a lot of things, and I was ready to test it out to prove its worth. I chose the shade Natural Beige 220. Read along if you want to know if it’s really worth the hype.

Packaging of Maybelline New York Superstay 24Hr
The packaging feels very luxurious and sturdy to hold. It doesn’t look like any cheap drugstore foundation by the first impression. The product comes in a strong glass bottle with a pump.
The pump is the best thing about this product because it helps to dispense only the required amount of foundation onto the hand. There is less product wastage, and it’s comparatively less messy with this pump.
The glass bottle comes with a cap that shuts tightly, so there is no chance of leakage. But it also makes it risky to travel with as it is prone to breakage. The glass bottle should be carried around carefully in your makeup vanity.
Texture and Fragrance of Maybelline New York Superstay 24Hr
The texture is neither too runny nor too thick. But I have to say that bendability is the best thing about this product.
The product can be used either with a brush or a damp beauty sponge. I prefer a dense kabuki brush to buff the product into the skin. The foundation is much pigmented, so a sponge dilutes the product and decreases the coverage a bit.
With a brush, you get the optimal coverage without having to layer the foundation multiple times. You can use this product however you want whether it’s sheering it out with a sponge or making it opaque with a brush it blends well and looks good.
Shade range of Maybelline New York Superstay 24Hr
It is available in 28 super-saturated shades. The shade range is not that impressive, but it covers a broad range of skin tones nevertheless.
The name and number of the shades are synonymous with the Maybelline fit me matte + poreless foundation.
So if you are familiar with your shade in the fit me range, you can buy the corresponding shade in this range as well.
Application of Maybelline New York Superstay 24Hr
I prepped my skin well with skincare and then with a primer. Then I used the foundation with a brush one day and a sponge the other day. Both the times the foundation layered beautifully.
In the first layer, it gave medium coverage. But it’s a buildable formula. So with a second layer, you will get a full coverage opaque finish. I find that with a primer, the foundation looks better on skin and photographs well.
Without a primer, it tends to settle in the pores, making them appear larger. So if you are suffering from large pores, the use of primer is something to consider. A little goes a long way for this product as it’s highly pigmented. Just a pump and a half for the whole face is more than enough.
For people with dry skin, I would highly recommend hydrate your skin well before applying this foundation. This formula is matte, so it can cling to dry patches and skin texture if you don’t prep your skin well.
Longevity of Maybelline New York Superstay 24Hr
I must admit that I didn’t wear the foundation up to 24 hours to test its claim because otherwise, my skin would have cursed me. However, I have worn this foundation for at least 12 hours, and I must say that it didn’t budge.
Even on my oily skin after a few hours, it looked flawless, just like the first time I put it on my face. I noticed some shine on my t-zone after a few hours, but it was nothing major.
A little powder touch-up, and I was good to go. Both Powder and cream products like blush, bronzer, and highlighters also sit well on this foundation. Once it’s on your face, it doesn’t move until you remove it with a makeup remover.
But I would suggest to prep your skin well before using this foundation as its full coverage. The formula tends to make your face look cakey and might exaggerate texture.
So, finish your makeup with a good setting spray to give it a more natural look.

Final thoughts
It’s a wonderful budget-friendly foundation that delivers what it promises. It doesn’t have any SPF, so it doesn’t give any flashbacks. It photographs flawlessly, and you get your money worth of product performance. However, people with very dry skin might need extra skin prep to enjoy this product. My oily skin beauties, you will find your ride and die foundation in this product. It’s a must-try in my opinion.
